We are looking for a Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, ideally with recent experience working with children and young people with mental health difficulties or within mental health settings. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self‑motivating, able to case‑manage, and will display excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish strong relationships essential for the success of the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team within the Child and Young Peoples Mental Health Service (CYPMH).
  • Deliver high‑quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well‑being of children, young people, their families and carers.
  • Utilise a systemic, holistic framework to conduct needs‑led, evidence‑based assessments and therapeutic interventions for children and young people, including those presenting with deliberate self‑harm.
  • Perform case‑management duties and manage a defined caseload of children and young people with emotional and mental health needs.
  • Apply the THRIVE model of prevention and promotion of positive emotional health and well‑being, primarily focusing on the ‘Getting Help’ domains.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working partnerships with children, young people, families, and other professionals.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Registered Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Mental Health Act, the Children’s Act, Gillick Competency, the Human Rights Act, the Mental Capacity Act, and other relevant legislation.
  • Functionality within a child and young people mental health service environment, with an understanding of preventive and therapeutic frameworks.
