Lanarkshire Welding Company Ltd is a leading provider of high-quality fabricated steel and composite bridges, as well as specialists in steel refurbishment. Operating from our Wishaw premises, we offer comprehensive services, including on-site strengthening works, specialist installations, and heavy fabrication of rail, road, and footbridges.

We are seeking a full-time 2D AutoCAD Drafter to join our on-site team in Wishaw. In this role, you will create detailed technical, shop and site drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring all designs meet project specifications and standards. You will collaborate with project managers and engineers to interpret design requirements and ensure accuracy in drafting. Additional responsibilities include, but are not restricted to, site attendance to complete surveys, purchasing materials and quality assurance as required, contributing to efficient project execution.

  • Create accurate and detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers.
  • Review and modify existing drawings based on feedback from team members or clients.
  • Maintain an organised library of drawings and project files for easy access.
  • Procurement of required materials on a job-to-job basis.
  • Maintain and complete Quality Assurance packages.
  • Occasionally attend site to attain survey information.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Technical Drawing, Shop Drawings, and Engineering Drawings.
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD, including the ability to create precise and technical plans.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and other team members.
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication or construction practices is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Negotiable based on experience

Schedule: Monday 8:30am - 4:30pm to Friday 8:30am - 3:15pm

Work Location: This is a role based in our Wishaw office and remote work is not available.
