Responsibilities

  • Provide clear leadership with regards to compliance with all health and safety procedures and requirements, fixing or escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Supported by the Technical Trainer, ensure NPLQ CPD, comp test, requirements are complied with at the Centre.
  • Coordinate and manage the swimming programme, ensuring it is operated in accordance with the Swim England Teaching Plan.
  • Ensure the swim school brand is fully implemented at the centre.
  • Drive Swim School occupancy, working closely with other managers to optimise pool usage.
  • Assist schools with school swimming booking processes.
  • Forge positive working relationships with the local Swimming Clubs, Schools and the Council's Sports Development Team to the benefit of the Learn to Swim Programme and swimming in general.
  • Teach swimming lessons across all stages and abilities of the swimming programme if and when required.
  • Be a key holder for the building and be responsible for opening and closing the site whilst on shift; sites are open from 6am – 10pm, so flexibility with working hours is required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification (essential).
  • Experience working in wet operations ideally and seeking to move into a senior or management position.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience delivering first-class customer service.
  • The ability to meet set targets and deadlines and be proactive in duties.
  • The ability to mentor, motivate, coach and develop team members and customers to achieve their potential.
  • Ideally hold or be able to work towards a First Aid at Work Qualification.
  • Ideally hold or be able to work towards a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
