About the Job
As a Lifestyles Services programme manager with Lampton Leisure, you will provide clinical oversight and leadership to Lampton Leisure's Weight Management Service and wider Adult Health and Wellbeing programmes, strengthen the clinical credibility of Lampton Leisure's health improvement offer and ensure programmes are evidence-based and aligned to public health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership & Programme Management
- Lead the strategic development and continuous improvement of Lampton Leisure's Adult Health and Wellbeing portfolio.
- Provide overall programme leadership for the Weight Management Service across the London Borough of Hounslow.
- Develop and implement evidence-based health improvement programmes addressing obesity, physical inactivity, behaviour change and long-term health conditions.
- Translate public health strategies and commissioning priorities into effective operational service delivery.
- Develop annual programme plans, delivery models and improvement objectives aligned with organisational and commissioner priorities.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing services and introduce innovative health interventions that respond to emerging community health needs.
- Lead service mobilisation and implementation of newly commissioned programmes from contract award through to operational delivery.
Clinical & Professional Leadership
- Act as the clinical lead for Adult Health and Wellbeing programmes within Lampton Leisure.
- Provide professional oversight to ensure services are delivered in accordance with evidence-based practice, recognised public health guidance and relevant professional standards.
- Lead the development of nutrition, healthy lifestyle and behaviour change interventions that deliver measurable health outcomes.
- Review and enhance programme content to ensure interventions remain clinically credible, effective and person-centred.
- Provide expert advice to operational teams regarding healthy lifestyles, nutrition and behaviour change methodologies.
- Develop clinical frameworks, pathways and quality standards to support consistent programme delivery across services.
- Maintain awareness of current research, national guidance and public health developments to inform service design and innovation.
Commissioning, Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with Public Health colleagues within the London Borough of Hounslow.
- Develop collaborative partnerships with NHS organisations, primary care, community health providers and voluntary sector organisations.
- Act as a senior representative for Lampton Leisure in meetings with commissioners and external healthcare partners.
- Increase commissioner confidence through strong clinical leadership, service performance and evidence-based programme development.
- Identify partnership opportunities that enhance service delivery and improve resident access to preventative health programmes.
- Support the development of integrated pathways between leisure, healthcare and community wellbeing services.
Tendering & Business Development
- Lead and coordinate tender submissions relating to adult and children's health and wellbeing services, including Weight Management programmes.
- Contribute to the preparation of high-quality bids, proposals and commissioning documentation.
- Work collaboratively with senior managers to develop compelling service models that demonstrate innovation, quality and value for money.
- Identify opportunities for external funding, grants and commissioned services that support strategic growth.
- Support contract retention through continuous improvement, strong performance and commissioner engagement.
- Produce service development proposals and business cases to support investment in new programmes.
Service Quality & Performance
- Establish robust quality assurance processes across Adult Health and Wellbeing programmes.
- Monitor programme outcomes against contractual KPIs, health outcomes and service objectives.
- Lead evaluation activities to measure programme effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Produce high-quality reports for commissioners, senior management and internal governance meetings.
- Ensure accurate collection, analysis and interpretation of service performance data.
- Use insight and evaluation to inform strategic decision making and future programme design.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance participant experience and programme outcomes.
Operational Leadership
- Provide leadership and professional direction to staff delivering lifestyle and wellbeing programmes.
- Develop training, guidance and educational resources to improve staff capability in nutrition, healthy lifestyles and behaviour change.
- Support operational teams to deliver consistent, high-quality interventions across multiple leisure sites and community settings.
- Ensure effective programme governance, risk management and compliance with organisational policies.
- Work collaboratively with Leisure management teams to embed health improvement programmes within the wider leisure offer.
- Promote an integrated approach between physical activity, exercise referral, wellbeing and preventative health services.
Equality, Inclusion & Community Impact
- Ensure programmes are accessible and inclusive, reducing barriers to participation for diverse communities across Hounslow.
- Promote preventative health approaches that contribute to reducing health inequalities.
- Support targeted interventions for residents experiencing greater risk of poor health outcomes.
- Engage with community organisations to improve outreach and participation in health improvement programmes.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Dietetics, Health Promotion, Health Sciences or a closely related discipline.
- Professional qualification or significant specialist knowledge in healthy lifestyles, weight management or behaviour change.
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development within public health, nutrition or health improvement.
- Significant experience managing public health, health improvement or healthy lifestyle programmes.
- Experience delivering or overseeing weight management and behaviour change interventions.
- Experience working within the public sector, local authority, NHS or commissioned healthcare environment.
- Experience working directly with Public Health commissioners and healthcare partners.
- Demonstrable experience developing evidence-based health programmes from concept through implementation.
- Experience managing multiple projects or programmes simultaneously within a complex operational environment.
- Experience monitoring contractual KPIs and producing performance reports for commissioners or senior stakeholders.
- Experience contributing to successful tender submissions, commissioning proposals or service development bids.
- Experience leading quality assurance and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Experience developing and delivering professional training or guidance for operational teams.
