About The Role:
As a Qualified Electrician, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of electrical services across our housing portfolio. Depending on business needs, you may work within one or more of our operational teams, including Responsive Repairs, Voids, Kitchens & Bathrooms (K&B), Major Works and Lampton Homes.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose, fault find, test, repair and maintain electrical installations within domestic and communal properties, ensuring all works comply with current regulations and company standards.
- Carry out electrical installations, alterations, upgrades, inspection, testing, commissioning and certification of electrical systems, including partial and full rewires.
- Work across a range of operational workstreams including Responsive Repairs, Voids, Kitchens & Bathrooms (K&B), Major Works and Lampton Homes, depending on business requirements.
- Undertake electrical refurbishment and improvement works within occupied and unoccupied properties, ensuring high standards of workmanship and customer service.
- Install, maintain and test a variety of electrical systems including power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, ICT infrastructure and three-phase installations.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications and work schedules to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to agreed deadlines.
- Plan and manage workloads effectively, ensuring the correct materials, equipment and resources are available to complete works within target timescales.
- Complete all required electrical certification and documentation accurately, including EICRs, EICs, Minor Works Certificates and other compliance records.
- Understand and comply with all Health & Safety legislation, company procedures, safe systems of work and asbestos awareness requirements.
- Work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, problem-solving skills and a professional approach with minimal supervision.
- Respond positively to changing priorities and emergency situations, adapting workloads to meet service demands while ensuring properties are left safe, secure and tidy.
- Provide excellent customer service when working within residents' homes, maintaining a professional, respectful and solution-focused approach at all times.
- Participate in the emergency call-out rota and provide out-of-hours support when required.
- Support apprentices, trainees and colleagues by sharing knowledge and promoting best practice across the electrical service.
- Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and remedial works in accordance with BS7671 and company procedures.
- Use handheld technology and company systems to accurately update work orders, certification and job progress.

Education & Qualifications Required:
- Full, clean driving licence
- City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing, or an equivalent qualification.
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation including AM2, City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2, or an equivalent recognised electrical qualification.
