About the Job
As a Health and Safety Business Partner, you will provide the Managing Director and Management team with competent Health and Safety advice on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that all areas of H&S is effectively managed, reported and appropriate corrective and preventive action taken when required. You will work collaboratively with the Group Head of Health and Safety to develop and deliver a health and safety strategy and then implement that strategy across the business. The Business partner acts as a first point of contact related to Health and Safety operational control including adverse event investigation.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Health and Safety, Heads of Services, Service Managers, and staff across Lampton Group to ensure high standards of H&S management are maintained.
- Provide a professional H&S advisory service including sound professional H&S advice on all matters of H&S policy and best practice to staff and associated organisations across the whole business.
- Advise Lampton and associated organisations on complex and technical H&S matters offering pragmatic and practical advice that ensures the most effective solution to be implemented within available budgets.
- Work flexibly across all service areas and with partners to achieve the H&S objectives of the Business.
- Develop, implement, manage and control any specific H&S policies, procedures and documentation that are not covered by the group H&S system.
- Develop and implement H&S strategy and H&S business plan (reflecting the group strategy and business plan) and deliver activities to schedule.
- Prepare and present reports to appropriate meetings and committees including the Lampton Services and Lampton 360 Board and members.
- Improve health and safety performance by contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Support achievement of the H&S strategy and H&S business plans through the delivery of agreed actions.
- Support the development of the Group H&S management system and act as the main point of contact during the consultation activity.
Experience and Qualifications required:
- NEBOSH diploma or equivalent, NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum, or ideally working towards NEBOSH diploma.
- Cert / Charter IOSH
- Experience and consistent achievement in providing proactive H&S advice to the property management or construction management industry.
- Experience of reviewing, establishing, and updating H&S policies and procedures.
- Experience gained in a property management, construction industry, waste industry or parks and greenspaces or other transferable industries.
Desirable Qualifications (but not essential):
- Professional audit qualification (ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO50001, ISO14001)
- Professional H&S qualifications related to the waste, logistics or allied industries.
- P405 Management of Asbestos
