About the Job
As a Level 2 Swimming Teacher, you will prepare and deliver swimming lessons to children and adults in the swim school program, ensuring the Swim England Framework is followed at all times. Our successful swim program covers an array of stages starting from adult and baby/toddler, Pre-school 1/2/3 and stage 1-7 and beyond, leading on to our exit pathway of rookie and competitive stages 8, 9, 10 and adult swim lessons.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans and a comprehensive scheme of work that meets the requirements of all Swim England Frameworks.
- Carry out all administrative tasks associated with the position, including lesson plans and schemes of work.
- Ensure all class registers are taken every lesson and continuous assessment of pupils is updated each week.
- Ensure upholding all GDPR guidelines at all times.
- Responsible for equipment set-up, organisation throughout the sessions and putting away at the end of the session.
- Comply with the Swim England Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct at all times.
- Ensure all concerns of a child safeguarding nature are referred in a timely and appropriate manner, in accordance with Safeguarding policy.
- Supervise and mentor ASA/Swim England Level 1 Assistant Swimming Teachers as required.
- Adapt to be in the water where necessary to support the wide range of lessons delivered if needed.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- ASA/Swim England or SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification
- SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming, or STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming and STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming qualification
- Experience of working in a comparable role.
- Experience of delivering first-class customer service to a diverse client base.
- Understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and procedure, and the ability to exercise these in the workplace.
- Excellent communication skills, including listening, questioning, and delivering effective feedback, and the ability to quickly build trust and rapport with customers, children, their parents, and school officials.
