About the Job

The Electrical Lead is responsible for leading and overseeing all electrical works delivered by Lampton Residential Services, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, delivering a high-quality service, and maintaining safety standards across all properties. This role is critical in ensuring electrical installations, repairs, and testing are carried out efficiently and in line with current legislation and best practice.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leadership & Management
    • Manage the electrical team, including qualified supervisors, electricians and subcontractors.
    • Ensure everyone in your team has regular 1:1s for feedback and to monitor performance targets.
    • Comply with the Group Code of Conduct and Core Values, setting a clear example for colleagues to follow.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to staff.
  • Compliance & Safety
    • Be the Principal Duty Holder for the NICEIC registration.
    • Ensure all electrical works comply with current legislation, including BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), NICEIC standards, and Health & Safety requirements.
    • Maintain accurate records of electrical inspections, testing, and certifications.
    • Oversee compliance with landlord obligations under the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020 (Amended 2025).
    • Manage & work in accordance with all relevant Health & Safety at Work regulations, company policies, procedures and industry best practice.
    • Remain up to date with all relevant compliance and mandatory training.
  • Operational Delivery
    • Ensure resources are allocated effectively to meet different workstream service delivery commitments and targets.
    • Ensure accurate completion of works, including the use of SOR codes to reflect tasks carried out.
    • Use data analytics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
    • Monitor performance against KPIs and service level agreements.
    • Manage budgets and control costs for electrical works.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Keep up to date with changes in legislation and regulations and cascade this information to technical staff.
    • Ensure all electricians and supervisors hold the necessary qualifications and maintain records of all training requirements and certification.
    • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure high standards of workmanship and adherence to current legislation.
    • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and enhance service delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Liaise, communicate, and work with other stakeholders, including client representatives, suppliers, contractors, colleagues, residents and others as required.
    • Provide expert advice on electrical matters to senior management.

Education & Qualifications desirable:

  • Essential
    • UK Level 3 competency-based installation qualification and AM2 (NVQ or equivalent)
    • BS7671:2018 (18th Edition) qualification
    • Certification in Initial Verification, Testing & Inspection (e.g. C&G 2391-52 or equivalent)
    • Good level of numeracy, literacy, written, oral and communication skills
    • Strong IT skills (including Microsoft applications and 3rd Party software)
  • Desirable
    • IOSH Managing Safety or SMSTS qualification (or willingness to obtain).

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND UNDERSTANDING

  • Essential
    • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Qualified Supervisor
    • Previous experience as a NICEIC Duty Holder
    • Understanding of current Health & Safety Regulations
    • Working knowledge of Asbestos policy & procedures
    • Application of Risk Assessments / Method Statements
    • Previous experience of working in a Social Housing Repairs & Maintenance environment
