We’re looking for a skilled, motivated and experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to join a busy and well-established service centre team specialising in the repair and overhaul of industrial gearboxes and pumps. This is a hands-on, technically varied role where you’ll be at the heart of diagnosing, dismantling, repairing, and reassembling critical rotating equipment. You’ll play a key part in ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and reliability while working on a wide range of equipment every day. As our Rotating Equipment Engineer you will:
- Dismantle, inspect, and reassemble a range of rotating equipment including gearboxes and pumps
- Produce clear and accurate inspection reports, identifying faults and recommending solutions
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Use measuring and testing equipment to ensure components meet required tolerances and quality standards
- Take ownership of your work, ensuring accuracy and high-quality output with minimal supervision
- Support day-to-day workshop activities, maintaining strong standards across quality, health & safety, and environmental practices
- Identify faults, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective repair solutions
- Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting ways to improve processes and efficiency
- Respond to urgent repair requirements when needed
What We’re Looking For:
- An engineering apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience
- Strong working knowledge of rotating equipment, particularly gearboxes and/or pumps
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering data
- Experience using precision measuring and testing equipment
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, and best practice
It would be great if you had:
- Previous experience in a repair or service workshop environment
- Health & safety, quality, or environmental training
