We are now seeking a Production Machinist to join our busy and growing workshop team! This is a fantastic opportunity for an apprenticeship-trained or HNC-qualified engineer looking to develop specialist skills in CNC profile gear grinding!
About the Production Machinist role:
- As a Production Machinist, you will be fully trained in the operation of CNC profile gear grinding machines.
- Manufacturing components safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Accurately recording final dimensions and surface finishes.
- Supporting quality, Health & Safety, and environmental activities within the workshop.
- Interpreting engineering drawings, technical data, and documentation.
- Working independently, taking ownership of accuracy and quality.
- Identifying improvements and contributing to problem-solving.
- Following standard work practices and procedures.
- Carrying out planned maintenance checks and responding to machine issues when required.
What We're Looking For:
- HNC in Manufacturing or a similar engineering discipline.
- Experience with CNC machines, lathes, milling, or gear-cutting equipment.
- Ability to work from instruction and use your own initiative.
- Confident in using measurement and testing tools to verify component accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering data.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Siemens controls is an advantage but not essential.
