WHY LSA Care, made daily. Lamington Serviced Apartments (LSA), is part of Lamington Group. Hometel is a term created and owned by Lamington Group. We design and operate hometels, combining practicality with feeling. We recognise the importance of being properly looked after, with a team that pays attention to what guests actually need.

THE ROLE

You are the Assistant Maintenance Manager at LSA. You anchor the physical presentation, asset functionality, and safety standards of our entire building and facilities. This role involves taking ownership of the property, managing reactive repairs, and ensuring that every maintenance task is completed with consistent care. Your work has a direct impact on how people live, sleep, and experience our spaces.

You drive the daily and weekly rhythm of the department, from optimising team tasks and executing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to maintaining strict health, safety, and building compliance controls. You ensure that the baseline of building quality is met across every floor and shift.

Your day is active, physical, and team-focused. You handle operational planning, compliance logs, and parts inventory while supporting your maintenance technicians, auditing completed repair work, tracking contractor deliveries, and keeping communication flowing between the maintenance team, front of house, and housekeeping.

This role gives back the satisfaction of running a complex engineering and asset machine that works. You will strengthen your practical leadership, asset lifecycle management, and cost-control logistics within a team that relies on trust.

WHO YOU ARE

Five things we hire for. These are the Lamington Group Values:

  • Use Instinct. You read what's needed and act on it.
  • Own It. You finish what you start.
  • Include All. You build trust quickly with guests, colleagues, and partners.
  • Stay Curious. You ask why and keep learning.
  • Think Big. You reject 'good enough' and bring better ideas.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

On a good day, you might:

  • Start the day reviewing the overnight maintenance log and guest maintenance requests.
  • Lead from the floor, maintaining an active presence alongside your team during complex repairs.
  • Ensure high standards across the building by personally auditing completed repair work.
  • Support and develop your maintenance team throughout the week.
  • Keep communication flowing seamlessly across the property.
  • Notice and act on departmental performance quickly.
  • Stay one step ahead, analysing stock inventory levels for critical spare parts.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Experience that fits the role:

  • Proven facilities maintenance management or supervisory experience.
  • Confidence in managing department logistics and costs.
  • A reliable, methodical approach with a sharp eye for details.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • A proactive mindset, taking full ownership of the physical property.
  • Extensive experience managing building health and safety compliance.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING HERE

What you get back:

  • Team that means it, working alongside people who understand the importance of maintenance operations.
  • Growth that's real, with opportunities for internal development and progression.
  • Learning built in, with structured onboarding and hands-on training.
  • Time off that respects you, with additional annual leave and company benefits.
  • Access to friends-and-family rates across our hometels and wider group properties.
  • Competitive benefits package including pension contributions and wellbeing initiatives.

FOR EVERYONE – A note on inclusion. Second Nature and Lamington Group are an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from every background. If you need any adjustments to take part in our hiring process, tell us when you apply.
