Care, made daily. Hometel is a term created and owned by Lamington Group. We design and operate hometels, combining practicality with feeling. It responds to how people actually travel and live. We also recognise the importance of the sense of being properly looked after. A team that pays attention to what guests actually need, not what a script tells us they should.

We are looking for people who care about the work in front of them and the people around them. If that sounds like you, keep reading.

THE ROLE

You lead marketing across Lamington Group’s portfolio, anchoring four properties today, with more in the pipeline, setting the strategic direction that builds our brands, drives revenue, and keeps every property's story compelling. This role isn't about managing from a back office; it’s about taking raw ownership of our commercial engine, directing our multi-property strategy, and ensuring our brand shows up with sharp, unhurried precision.

Your work directly drives our commercial growth and profitability, from setting the return on marketing investments to shaping our brand experience across digital, PR, and social channels. You build and lead a high-performing marketing team, giving them clear direction, modern tools, and the trust to do their best work, while staying close enough to the detail to coach, unblock, and step in when it matters. Guests and partners instantly recognise the standards, sharp voice, and commercial discipline you build.

Your day is active, diverse, and commercially grounded. You partner with the Head of Commercial to represent marketing at the executive table, translating data and creative instinct into actionable strategy. Driving team-wide AI adoption and digital transformation is a core mandate: you open the ad dashboards yourself, interrogate data, and push the team to use AI to work faster and smarter. In our agile, fast-paced environment, you maintain high standards for brand voice, manage digital media agencies, and hold your Marketing Executive (Content and Innovation) accountable for day-to-day execution.

This role offers the satisfaction of steering a fully autonomous, high-performing marketing ecosystem that fuels Lamington Group. You will sharpen your commercial capacity, strategic leadership, and people management within a culture built on straight talking and trust, the ultimate path for an established marketing leader who wants to lead by example.

WHO YOU ARE

Five things we hire for. These are the Lamington Group Values. We use them across every role in the Group, from Maintenance to Front of House to our Executive Leadership team. If three or more of these read like you on a good day, this is your kind of place.

  • Use Instinct. You balance performance data with commercial intuition. You read market shifts early, tune into guest sentiment, and back your team to act on unmet needs and creative potential with care.
  • Own It. You own the portfolio's commercial outcome and finish what you start. You are transparent about campaign performance, honest about what works and what doesn't, and take raw accountability for driving revenue across every property.
  • Include All. You build trust quickly with agencies, property teams, and executive peers. You lead with open, honest communication, breaking down silos between departments to treat the entire portfolio as one aligned team.
  • Stay Curious. You constantly interrogate the details. You ask why, explore new marketing technologies, open the ad dashboards yourself, and insist on understanding how our AI tools and systems work rather than managing from a distance.
  • Think Big. You reject 'good enough' and look beyond quick fixes. You spot commercial patterns, push for AI-driven transformation, and bring ambitious strategies that elevate our brand presence across open and pipeline properties.

We don't hire just for years of corporate hotel experience. We can teach the portfolio nuances. We can't teach you how to lead with vision, inspire a team, or read a room.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

On a good day, you might… Start the day reviewing portfolio-wide campaign performance, P&L commercial data, and AI tool outputs, refining strategic priorities and setting clear direction for your team before morning briefings begin. Lead our department from the front, coaching your Senior Marketing Executive and Marketing Executive (Content and Innovation), unblocking workflow bottlenecks, and driving a modern, data-led team culture.

Ensure unhurried brand excellence across all four properties by personally reviewing high-stakes comms, PR moments, and creative output, making sure every guest touchpoint stays crisp, accurate, and completely on-brand. Direct our overarching portfolio strategy and annual marketing budget throughout the week, working closely with property leadership and revenue management to maximize return on investment across open and pipeline properties.

Keep communication and digital operations flowing seamlessly, jumping directly into Meta Ads Manager or Google Ads alongside your Senior Marketing Executive to co-build high-stakes campaigns and optimize paid media spend. Notice and act on performance quickly, personally setting the AI-first agenda across the team to eliminate manual work, while stepping in directly to handle crisis comms or major launch moments whenever senior leadership judgment is needed.

Stay one step ahead, establishing shared marketing technologies across the portfolio, tracking clear department metrics, and supporting the Head of Commercial at the senior table, translating creative instinct and data into actionable commercial strategy.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Experience that fits the role. Proven marketing leadership experience across hospitality, travel, or multi-site guest-facing businesses, with a track record of owning full portfolio budgets and driving clear commercial returns. Confidence in managing multi-channel digital strategies, including hands-on expertise in paid media (Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads), SEO/GEO, CRM, and marketing technology stack integration.

A reliable, methodical approach to people leadership and department building, establishing clear structures to mentor, develop, and hold a high-performing team accountable across shifting priorities. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to represent marketing at the senior leadership table, align with property-level teams, and manage digital agency relationships.

An experimental, proactive mindset as an AI adoption driver, someone who sets the AI agenda for the department, leads teams to embed AI workflows, and holds people accountable for measurable efficiency and ROI. Analytical literacy and agile adaptability, combined with the strategic vision to launch pipeline properties, interrogate performance metrics, and maintain brand excellence across an expanding hometel portfolio.
