The Role

Purpose of the role
You will enhance the delivery of the world’s most complex projects through world‑class project planning. You will devise strategies and tactics to improve delivery, translate them into a logic‑linked plan, analyse with planning software, and help teams understand what to prioritise.

Your team
This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy team, focusing on:

  • Understanding the real problems of projects
  • Implementing the best solutions to those problems
  • Developing scalable best practices, tools and technology

You will be part of our Project Planning Team, led by a planning discipline director.

Your top three objectives

  • Make construction projects deliver to near perfection
  • Create scalable and repeatable solutions to common problems
  • Develop yourself and everyone around you

Your top five responsibilities

  • Own the plan: Own the project plan for one or more projects and ensure delivery against it, mitigating delays commercially.
  • Own the outcome: Ensure the project team understands and focuses on the plan, and engage with challenging stakeholders.
  • Report and inform: Provide simple, actionable reports to stakeholders to improve delivery.
  • Make scalable solutions: Develop scalable, repeatable best practices and tools with the team for long‑term impact.
  • Develop everyone: Maximise development of your team and educate clients to improve as well.

You must have

  • A construction engineering background: At least 2+ years of experience on construction projects.
  • Communication skills: Proficient in written and verbal English with the ability to influence project teams.
  • Leadership capabilities: Proactive self‑leadership and the ability to challenge and guide others.
  • Impact: A track record of delivering scalable, repeatable improvements with positive outcomes.

Laminar isn’t the place for you if any of the following is true:

  • You want an easy, chilled‑out role without challenge
  • You like to be the smartest person in the room
  • You don’t like receiving honest candid feedback
  • You prefer to work alone rather than as part of a team
