The Role
Purpose of the role
You will enhance the delivery of the world's most complex projects through project controls, serving as a senior leader who pushes discipline improvements within Laminar and across the industry.
Your team
This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy, focusing on:
- Understanding the real problems of projects
- Implementing effective solutions to those problems
- Developing scalable best practices, tools, and technology
You will be part of our Project Controls Discipline Team, led initially by a project controls discipline director.

Your top five responsibilities
- Own the controls: Own the controls for cost, schedule, change and risk on one or more projects to enable accurate decisions for project teams
- Develop everyone: Maximise development of your team and educate clients to improve as well
- Make scalable solutions: Develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools in collaboration with the team for long-term impact
- Report and inform: Provide simple actionable reports to stakeholders at all levels to improve delivery efficiency
- Own the outcome: You may not be the project manager, but you are responsible for ensuring the project's understanding and focus on the plan
You must have:
- A construction engineering background: Solid capability in cost, schedule, and change control with experience in developing project controls processes and reporting aligned to objectives
- Communication skills: Ability to engage construction teams, drive adoption of new approaches, and promote best practices
- Leadership capabilities: Proven leader, coach, and developer of teams
- Impact: Track record of implementing scalable, repeatable solutions with positive impact on complex projects
