The Role
At Laminar, you will join our defence team as a Senior Planning Manager, leading the planning function on a critical infrastructure project in Southern England. The role is open to UK passport holders or NATO/MISWG nationals residing in the UK with no work restrictions.
Project is based in Southern England; 2‑3 days on site per fortnight.
Purpose of the role
As the top‑notch Planning Manager, you will lead planning for a major UK Critical Infrastructure project. You will manage a team of 5‑10 planners, drive improvement initiatives, and mentor junior consultants.
Core Responsibilities
- Own the plan: define clear roles and responsibilities across the team and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Own the outcome: take full ownership of delivering project outcomes, aligning team and stakeholders.
- Report and inform: create clear, actionable reports for stakeholders at all levels.
- Make scalable solutions: develop repeatable best‑practice tools that deliver long‑term impact.
- Develop everyone: maximise personal and professional growth of the team and educate clients.
Your Capabilities
- Planning Excellence: 10+ years of engineering and construction project experience with expert‑level use of Primavera P6.
- Planning Leadership: demonstrated history of leading planning teams and being trusted by clients.
- Communication: competent communicator in English with charisma and influence.
- Elevate with Energy: passion for improvement and demonstration of curiosity and innovation.
- Security clearance: ability to obtain UK security clearance.
Eligibility Requirements
- Hold a UK passport and have resided in the UK for at least 5 years, or hold a nationality from a NATO or MISWG member state.
- Currently reside in the UK with no restrictions on your right to work.
As a candidate, you should have
- Construction engineering background with at least 10 years of experience on construction projects and expert project planning knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven leadership with a positive approach to people.
- A track record of making projects and organisations better.

- Strong Excel skills and interest in data.
- Charisma and presence to lead teams toward new approaches.
- Experience coaching or developing teams.
