This role focuses on advancing the delivery of complex construction projects through project controls, leadership, and scalable practices. Laminar Projects is a high-end project management consultancy and tech developer focused on upgrading construction delivery with transparency, technology, and common sense.
Role
Purpose of the role
You will enhance the delivery of the most complex and interesting projects through project controls, acting as a senior leader to push the discipline to new heights within Laminar and the wider industry.
Your team
This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy and our Project Controls Discipline Team. The team focuses on understanding project problems, implementing solutions, and developing scalable practices, tools and technology. Initial leadership comes from one of our project controls discipline directors.

Responsibilities
- Own the controls for cost, schedule, change and risk on one or more projects to enable accurate decisions for project teams
- Develop your team professionally and educate clients to improve as well
- Develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools in collaboration with the team for long-term impact
- Provide simple actionable reports to stakeholders to help them deliver their part more efficiently
- Take accountability for ensuring the project’s plan is understood and followed, even when facing resistance
Qualifications and requirements
- A construction engineering background with solid capability in cost, schedule, and change controls; experience in developing project controls processes and reporting aligned with objectives
- Strong communication skills with charisma, presence, and influence to drive adoption of new approaches
- Proven leadership, coaching, and development of teams in planning and controls
- Track record of implementing scalable, repeatable solutions that create positive impact on complex projects
