The Role
Purpose of the role
We are looking for Digital Consultants to join our team. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues to understand clients’ challenges, contribute to the development of digital, data-driven solutions, and grow your consulting skills in a supportive environment. You’ll be proactive, curious, and eager to learn – someone who enjoys solving problems and is keen to develop the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
Team
The Data & Digital team helps people to use data effectively to improve the performance of their projects or organisations. To do this effectively and at scale we use the modern digital technologies including Azure, Fabric, Power BI and Python. We pride ourselves on being structured and outcome driven, helping us to build the best solutions and helping us to continuously improve what we do.
Your top 5 responsibilities
1. Solve our clients’ most complex business problems: Work closely with experienced team members to understand client needs, learn their business processes, and contribute to the development of data-driven digital solutions.
2. Implement best practice data solutions: Collaborate with technical experts and experienced consultants to deliver high-quality outcomes, while developing your ability to understand and communicate business requirements.
3. Contribute to internal Laminar data initiatives: Help us become more data-driven by supporting the development of internal digital tools that improve how we operate.
4. Support the productisation of client solutions: Implement scalable digital solutions that can be adapted across different clients and sectors.
5. Follow and help improve our processes: Learn our ways of working, bring a fresh perspective, and help identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Your Capabilities
As a candidate, you should have:
– Degree educated in one of the following: Engineering, Surveying, Project Management, or similar.
– 2+ years experience in the engineering/construction of large capital projects (>USD 100m).
– Great communication skills, able to translate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner to a wide variety of audiences.
– Demonstrable passion for digital transformation and improving the delivery of Capital Projects, with the curiosity to learn the latest digital tools and processes across project life cycle.
– Have an analytical mindset and approach problems in a data-driven way.
It would also be great if you have:
– Experience implementing and improving data and digital solutions across an organisation or large project.
– Consultancy experience.
– Product Management/Software development experience.
– Experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI).
– Experience with databases (e.g., SQL, Azure).
