We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Unit Manager to lead one of our care units within our welcoming and high-quality care home. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring exceptional standards of care, supporting and developing staff, and promoting a safe, positive environment for residents. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day running of the care unit, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care.
- Leading, motivating, and supporting a care team.
- Ensuring care plans and documentation are accurate, up to date, and reflect residents’ needs.
- Monitoring staffing levels, overseeing rotas, and supporting effective shift management.
- Ensuring compliance with CQC regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Acting as a role model and promoting best practice across the unit.
- Supporting recruitment, induction, appraisal, and staff development.
- Working closely with senior management, families, and external professionals.
About You:
- Proven experience in a senior care role (Unit Manager, Senior Nurse, Senior Carer, or similar).
- A recognised care or nursing qualification (NVQ Level 3/4/5 in Health and Social Care or NMC registration, desirable).
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- A caring, professional approach with a passion for quality care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage priorities, support staff, and maintain high standards under pressure.
