Reports to: QA Manager, (Deputise for QA Specialist / QA support)
Overall Role Purpose
The QA Systems person is tasked with the maintenance of the internal audit system and the HACCP System. Investigation and resolution of customer complaints, and drive through improvement following identification of trends. Conducting traceability exercises and mock recalls. Project work i.e. complaint reduction. Complete KPI reports. Management of lab samples. Maintenance and management of document control. Maintenance and Calibration of equipment.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Ensure an effective internal audit programme and corrective and preventative actions:
- Schedule audits, and issue audit packs of areas to be audited to relevant auditors
- Review audits on completion, feedback improvements to auditors and risk assess frequency
- Chase any outstanding audits, and escape if necessary
- Transfer action points to Corrective and Preventative action list
- Champion root cause analysis and agree actions and timescales with relevant people
- Chase outstanding non-conformances and escape if overdue
- Attend corporate HACCP meetings
- Review the HACCP plan to meet corporate and customer requirements.
- Investigate customer complaints using production history
- Report findings to Quality Assurance Manager/Customer QA Manager
- Review complaints for trend, and implement corrective and preventative actions as necessary.
- Communicate trends to QA & Production Manager
- Hold monthly complaint reduction meetings, and collate any actions into a Complaint reduction plan
- Conduct and present traceability exercises according to schedule, as well as during audits & visits
- Present the following areas to auditors / visitors: Complaints, internal audits, & product recall. Calibration records.
- Deputisation of QA Specialist / QA support with regard to the daily routine concerning quality and process related matters
- Conduct investigations based on questions from QA manager or other departments
- Carry out document control, and communicate any changes to the training department
- Log samples for the external lab, and arrange couriers. Ensure sufficient lab supplies
- Complete Weekly internal KPI reports, and customer KPI reports on request
- Complete internal audits
- Any other reasonable request from Line manager

- Assist in customer visits and dealing with customer queries, and present topic of responsibility in audits.

Job Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications
- A good level of general education with, as a minimum, Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
- An industry recognised QA qualification/training would be desirable
- Chemical training, H+S, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety is desirable
- Internal audit training is desirable
- Degree in Food related subjects desirable
Experience
- 2 + years in a Quality food manufacturing role.
- Knowledge of MS Office and SAP / SCADA
- Root cause analysis
- Internal / Lead auditor training
- HACCP Level 3
