This is a senior, high impact opportunity for an experienced technical professional to lead the development of new products, enhancements to existing ranges and owning the specification of all products. The role sits at the heart of Lambson’s innovation agenda and is critical to maintaining our position as an industry leader in technically advanced, high quality manufactured solutions.
The Technical Manager will act as Lambson’s technical authority, ensuring all products, processes and development activities align with regulatory, ISO and internal quality standards while delivering commercially viable, manufacturable outcomes.
Key Focus Areas- Leading the technical development of new products from concept through to manufacturing handover
- Translating customer and market requirements into clear technical specifications and compelling concept visuals
- Producing and maintaining CAD documentation, ensuring full ISO auditable compliance
- Specifying materials, processes and product requirements aligned to manufacturing capability and capacity
- Planning, tracking and communicating product development project progress across key stakeholders
- Managing prototyping and testing activity, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Providing detailed handover documentation and technical support to operational teams
- Acting as the single point of technical expertise on all relevant BS, EN and industry standards
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 across all technical activities
- Collaborating closely with commercial, operational, engineering and quality teams to ensure precision delivery
- Significant experience in technical product and process development within a manufacturing environment
- Proven capability in advanced, made-to-order manufacturing processes (experience with laminated products, adhesives, furniture or panel manufacturing advantageous)
- High level of proficiency in CAD and visualisation tools, from concept generation to manufacturing-ready drawings
- Strong understanding of Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 principles and technologies
- Hands-on experience in prototyping, testing and validation within workshop and factory settings
- In-depth knowledge of relevant BS, EN and ISO standards, with practical experience operating within regulated environments
- Highly developed problem-solving, analytical and creative thinking skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a track record of leading cross-functional project teams
- Relevant qualification in CAD and visualisation software; project management certification desirable
- Willingness to travel within the UK and Europe as required
