About the team and role:

The successful candidate will take a key role within our well-established planning enforcement team, dedicated to safeguarding the amenity of people who live and work in the Borough.

As part of a busy team, you will be responsible for visiting and researching sites and premises and investigating alleged breaches of planning control by informally and formally negotiating resolutions. We’re looking for someone who is motivated, dynamic, enthusiastic, and innovative – who will complement our successful and committed team in contributing to the creation and maintenance of the high-quality built environment within Lambeth.

The post will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about the overarching planning process as you will be required to work closely with our development management, conservation, and policy colleagues. Negotiation skills are essential as is the ability to work within a customer-focused environment where tact, patience, and diplomacy are essential. Experience of working within planning enforcement would of course be beneficial – but is not essential.

The market supplement payment is up to 8.5%. Lambeth also offers paid for RTPI subscriptions. Office working would be at our modern offices in the heart of the Brixton Town Centre, less than 5 minutes’ walk from the Underground and Overground train stations.
