About the Team: Community Works is Lambeth’s in-house Direct Labour Organisation (DLO), delivering communal repairs, estate-based maintenance, and planned improvements across the borough. We focus on maintaining and enhancing shared spaces, improving estate appearance and safety, and delivering value by reducing reliance on external contractors. You will join a skilled, supportive team committed to making a visible difference to the communities we serve.
Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a skilled Painter to carry out painting and decorating works in communal areas and across Lambeth’s estates. This will include estate improvement projects, internal and external communal spaces, and planned maintenance programmes. You will ensure that all work is completed to a high standard, on time, and in line with health and safety requirements. This is a mobile role where you’ll travel between sites, so you’ll need to be self-motivated, organised, and committed to delivering quality work that enhances the environment for our residents.
What you will need to be considered
- Proven experience as a Painter/Decorator, ideally in communal or estate-based environments
- Ability to deliver high-quality painting and decorating works to shared spaces and external areas
- Good knowledge of health and safety requirements, with a commitment to safe working practices
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a resident-focused approach
- Ability to work independently, manage your workload effectively, and meet agreed deadlines
- Ideally hold a Level 2 NVQ (or equivalent) in Painting and Decorating, but relevant experience will also be considered
