About the Team
The Families First Partnership Programme Team is a small team that sits at the heart of system reform, leading the delivery and embedding of Families First Partnership and wider social care reforms to transform how children and families receive support. We work across the local authority’s children services; health, education, YJS and the voluntary and community sector to redesign services, align reform initiatives and turn national ambition into lived experience for families. About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Business Support Team Leader to play a pivotal role within the Families First Programme (FFP); a major system reform and transformation initiative focused on improving outcomes for children, young people, and families.
This is a senior-level business support role, defined by the depth of expertise, organisational leadership, and programme-level coordination required. While this position does not involve direct line management of staff, it carries significant responsibility for leading, shaping, and assuring the quality of business support across the programme.
You will act as the backbone of programme coordination, ensuring that structures, processes, and governance operate effectively to support a complex, multi-agency transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of high-quality business support across the programme, setting standards and expectations
- Coordinate programme governance, including boards, reporting cycles, and documentation
- Provide expert oversight of planning, scheduling, and programme coordination activity
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of information flow across partners and stakeholders
- Identify and implement improvements to business support systems and processes
- Act as a key point of expertise and guidance for business support functions embedded across the programme
