About the Team

Lambeth Archives, a small specialist team within Lambeth\'s Libraries and Archives Service, looks after the historic records of Lambeth Council, the deposited records of hundreds of local organizations and individuals, the borough\'s local studies collection and a small museum collection. We moved last year to a new purpose-built archive on Brixton Hill with a stylish, welcoming public search room and an extensive strong room with accrual space for new collections for the next 25 years.

About the Role

This post is responsible for the day-to-day operations and delivery of a high-quality archive and local history service including delivering major Archives projects and being the main contact for the community as the person responsible at a local level. The post-holder will also be responsible for creating and developing partnership opportunities, enabling the service to reach a wider audience and be responsive to changing customer needs and demand.

To be considered for interview

Your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence:

  • Advanced computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical analysis/ performance management software
  • Good knowledge of archives, local studies and management
  • Project management and delivery of transformation change
  • Ability to develop the systems and processes required for performance management
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role or environment
  • Experience of financial and budgetary management
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment and implementing and delivering quality standards
  • Experience of working with partners and community organisations
  • Significant experience in this sector
