Key focus of job

The Group Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for all aspects of LSH’s supply chain arrangements, including policy and procedure, compliance assurance and monitoring, contract arrangements, cost control, and efficiency. Reporting to the Finance Director, the position will be pivotal in ensuring LSH achieves best value and efficiency across its diverse supply chain, as well as compliance with our statutory, regulatory and ethical responsibilities in this respect.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supplier Management Policy & Procedure
    • Responsible for the creation, development, maintenance and internal publication of LSH’s supplier management policies and procedures
    • Manage the approvals process for all existing and new suppliers
    • Ensuring that supplier management policies and procedures are aligned to business requirements, at all times.
    • Set supplier selection, evaluation and monitoring criteria incorporating ESG metrics such as sustainability practices, social impact, and governance standards in line with double materiality and CSRD requirements.
    • Review annually to ensure compliance with new ESG frameworks, Group requirements and regulatory updates.
    • Provide relevant guidance and training to LSH colleagues in relation to supplier onboarding and management requirements
    • Implement supplier ‘scoring’ within the Company’s Medius system and provide relevant and high-quality management information to LSH senior management
  • Supplier Maintenance and Contract Management
    • Maintain a register of ‘approved contractors’ and make available on the Company’s intranet and/or other communication media.
    • Collate and review the Company’s full supplier list and provide analysis of the nature of service/product supplies in place across the business.
    • Categorise suppliers according to volume/value of contract/risk
    • Identify supplier contract end dates and manage all renewals, competitive tenders and pricing negotiations across the supplier network
    • Proactively identify, pursue and deliver opportunities for commercial efficiencies across the Company’s supply chain, through supplier consolidation, cost reductions and rationalisation.
    • Formalise supplier contracts, including management of completion of the sub-consultant contract template
    • Manage supplier documents, including contract terms, insurances, accreditations etc, via the Medius system
  • Supplier Compliance Monitoring
    • Conduct annual ESG audits of suppliers and the supply chain to ensure compliance with sustainability goals, social responsibility standards, and governance criteria in addition to commercial and legal risk assessments.
    • Monitor performance and liaise with recipients of service
    • Monitor supplier performance and ensure alignment with LSH’s SBTi-aligned net zero target, working with suppliers to reduce carbon emissions across the supply chain and implementing practices that contribute to LSH’s overall sustainability and carbon reduction goals.
    • Monitor/audit suppliers, annually, (on a risk basis) for compliance with the Modern Slavery Act, ESG standards, CSRD requirements, environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and corporate governance standards.
    • Monitor and audit suppliers annually for financial crime, including bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, counter terrorist financing and fraud
    • Monitor compliance within LSH and liaise with Divisions on implementation
    • Police supplier underperformance
    • Ensure alignment of the procurement process with LSH ISO Accreditation and ESG frameworks
    • ISO 45001 Health and Safety – ensure outsourced functions and processes are controlled in order to assess the impact on H&S performance within LSH
    • ISO 14001 Environment – assess/ensure products and services are supplied by external providers does not impact on LSH’s environmental objectives
    • ISO 9001 Quality – ensure products/services comply with applicable statutory/regulatory requirements additional ESG-related certifications such as CDP, Ecovadis, and Joscar. CSRD requirements.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Liaise with LSH Group Finance team on the future introduction and management of a supplier payment/Purchase Order system
  • Liaise with other LSH Group teams, including Bids, ESG, Marketing and Technology, on responses to PQQs, tenders, and supplier disclosure requests, ensuring that supplier management aligns with both commercial goals and ESG commitments.

Target Objectives

  • Centralisation of all supply chain activities with common policy, guidelines and procedures across the Group
  • Full supplier listing in place for the Group, with effective management controls in place to maintain
  • All colleagues trained on policy, guidelines and procedures and processes and actions in place to ensure continued compliance
  • Effective management procedures implemented across the supply chain to eliminate risk of financial, commercial and reputational risk across key metrics
  • Effective supplier and contractor compliance management, monitoring and risk identification processes in place to minimise financial, commercial, regulatory and reputational risks to the business
  • Supplier rationalisation and cost control and reduction across the estate
  • Full suite of accurate and high-quality reporting in place across Supply Chain activities

Qualities, Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive, demonstrable and relevant professional experience in supply chain management, ideally within a multi-locational professional services setting.
  • Experience of working with Senior Leadership teams in designing and delivering strategically aligned programs and initiatives, as well as providing regular updates on progress and status.
  • Degree-level qualification in relevant subject, preferable.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)
