Lambert Labs is looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer to join its team. We are an AWS Advanced Tier Services partner that helps customers across a wide range of industries migrate to AWS, modernize their AWS infrastructure and innovate on AWS (with data and AI). Our services are in demand – we have worked with 100+ AWS customers and work very closely with the AWS team locally and globally.
The role involves working on a variety of projects, including:
- Modernizing AWS infrastructure by decoupling monolithic EC2-centric AWS infrastructure by making use of containers and AWS managed services.
- Building AI applications using AWS’ suite of AI services including Amazon Bedrock.
- Using multimodal LLMs to build applications that supercharge existing businesses with AI.
- Building data processing pipelines on AWS.
- Writing Terraform or CloudFormation to template AWS infrastructure.
- Conducting AWS Well-Architected Reviews of customers’ AWS infrastructure, writing feedback reports and remediating High-Risk Issues.
- Migrating Linux and/or Windows workloads from either on-premises or other cloud providers to AWS.
- Refactoring multi-tenanted customer applications deployed in a single AWS account into an AWS Organization made up of multiple AWS accounts.
Customer engagements are typically less than 4 weeks in duration, but we do have customers who we complete longer engagements with and for some customers we complete multiple engagements each year. Typically, engagements include one or two consultants from the Lambert Labs side working with the customer.
There are also a number of tasks focused on the AWS Partner Program, including:
- Training for AWS certifications from the AWS Certification pathway. We expect our AWS Consultants to study for and maintain the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certifications as a minimum.
- Writing funding applications for AWS Proof of Concepts, the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program, the AWS Migration Acceleration Program or other AWS funding programs.
- Applying for AWS Competencies and AWS Service Delivery validations on behalf of Lambert Labs.
- Engaging with AWS Solutions Architects and AWS Account Managers aligned with our customer accounts.
- Attending events such as AWS Experience events and industry exhibitions.
- Speaking at industry events.
- Writing customer case studies or technical articles for our website or other platforms.
While technical skills are important, we are hiring for aptitude and attitude above all else. We are looking for a natural communicator and a rapid learner who wants to grow a small business with huge potential.
What matters most:
- Exceptional communication: You can explain complex concepts with clarity, both orally and in writing.
- Knack for learning fast: You are driven to understand how things work and are not intimidated by new technologies.
- A problem-solving mindset: You are resourceful, logical, and enjoy breaking down a complex challenge into manageable steps to find a solution.
- Motivation and drive: You have a proactive, 'can-do' attitude and are passionate about delivering high-quality work and making a real impact.
Your background:
- A 2:1 or higher in a technical degree.
- You might be a graduate with up to 2 years of experience in technology; equally, you might have recently changed careers into technology.
- Hands-on experience with cloud computing concepts, preferably on AWS.
- Experience with two or more of the following:
- Infrastructure as code (IaC) with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Containerization of Python, NodeJS, PHP and .NET applications using Docker on either Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS or AWS Elastic Beanstalk.
- Building applications or workloads with Foundational Models such as OpenAI’s GPT, Anthropic Claude, Amazon Bedrock API.
- Managing databases on AWS using Amazon RDS, Amazon DynamoDB or Amazon DocumentDB.
- Continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

- Excellent work-life balance.
- 25 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays.
- A flexible, hybrid working model combining remote work with our London office.
- A generous annual budget for professional development, training, and AWS certifications.
- The opportunity to work with a talented, supportive team on challenging and impactful projects.
- Quarterly company socials.
- Cycle to work scheme.
