Job Title: Multi Skilled QA (days Mon-Fri)

Salary: £31,000

Department: QA Department

Reports to: QA Manager, QA Specialist

Overall Role Purpose: To step in the QA role when required, providing notice in advance. This may include covering breaks, holidays, or sickness. Some shift work may be necessary.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Handling and logging customer complaints
  • Carrying out internal GMP and system audits
  • Calibrating key QA equipment (lab and packaging)
  • Conducting glass and hard plastic audits
  • Raising purchase orders and managing consumables
  • Performing ATP and micro testing of key processing equipment
  • Holding and releasing finished stock
  • Creating internal audit packs
  • Supporting the implementation of new technical systems
  • Assisting in closing out audit non-conformances
  • Representing at audits as necessary
  • Deputising for the QA specialist and technical officer when needed
  • Conducting QA testing on finished products
  • Sending finished samples to external laboratories and customers
  • Assisting in traceability exercises
  • Performing any other reasonable tasks as directed by your supervisor/manager

KPI’s Influenced by the Role: Communicate effectively with process operators, packaging operators, lift truck operators, and supervisors. Represent the company confidently with visitors and customers. Promote excellent GMP and housekeeping standards. Be flexible to various requests.

Role Factors: Stakeholders include QA Inspector, Shift Manager, Process Supervisor, Packaging Supervisor.

Qualifications: Knowledge of the food industry, HACCP Level 2/3, auditing qualification, micro knowledge, retailer codes of practice, and food safety training.

Experience: 2-3 years of food manufacturing experience.
