Responsibilities:
- Take care of all machine-specific functions such as configuring the equipment, operating the machines, and optimising machine capability.
- Ensure the machine works at its full capacity.
- Oversee basic maintenance and hygiene as well as perform quality checks.
- Perform a range of skills or abilities to cover all machine lines and roles across the plant.
- In conjunction with Engineering, carry out technical related activities related to machinery within training skills boundaries and prevent any future breakdowns on the machines by highlighting it to Engineering.
- Ensure the successful running of the production line in order to meet targets.
- Be involved in and show commitment to TPM and actively work towards the current stage.
- Use fault finding skills to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the production line.
- Have awareness of business demands and an understanding of the site strategy and how the centre fits into the long-term plan.
- Fully record production information on the correct documentation including Process Quality Control checks.
- Ensure that relevant information is communicated during shift handover.
- Actively seek ways to improve performance and share with the engineering group.
- Contribute to the decision-making process.
- Work within the framework and boundaries of the role.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Good solid experience within the Veetee Foods environment, preferably with relevant filling (High Care) & packaging line experience.
- Knowledge of Quality Management.
- Previous food handling Systems (BRC & HACCP) experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- Numerate & literate and able to follow instructions.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Basic IT skills.
- Mechanical understanding.
- Flexibility to cover different shift patterns for absence/holiday and overtime as required.
- Team player.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
