Bon Secours in the coastal Virginia Hampton Roads/Tidewater region is seeking a Breast Fellowship trained Breast Surgeon. The care is focused on high-risk Breast Surgery and cancer patients. We are adding an experienced breast surgeon to work with the medical and radiation oncology programs to manage cancer diagnosis and assist in building our breast program.
We have a full oncology service line to include supporting nurse navigators, nursing staff, medical oncologists, radiation oncology and OPIC clinic on campus. Care and surgery locations for this position are located at Harbour View in North Suffolk and at the DePaul Surgery Center in Norfolk.
Position Details:
- Office Hours: Monday-Friday 8am to 4:30pm
- Practice Setting: Hospital based and outpatient
- Typical Day: Est. 20 patients per day in clinic, all adult.
- Support: 1:1 ratio - Oncology Nurse Navigator, Breast Health navigation, long-time dedicated nursing staff, aligned medical oncology, employed radiation oncology, OPIC and women's center.
- Work Schedule: 2-3 days per week in OR and 2-3 in clinic.
- Call Schedule: General surgery call rotation is 1:3, shared among surgeons. No general call for breast surgeon, but is responsible for own patients 24/7/365 except when on PTO.
- EPIC EMR and MyChart for Telemedicine as appropriate
- Special Skills Training: Breast Fellowship training, 3-5 years' surgery experience and experience building a program
