At Lakeside Healthcare as part of the PCNexpansion, we are looking to appoint 2 x Temporary Safeguarding CareCoordinators to cover Maternity leave for a period of up to 9-12 months. Full or part time hours will be considered to join the busy safeguarding team based at Forest Gate Medical Centre in Corby

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, flexible and able to work competently under pressure within a busy working environment. The post is an admin role which involves liaison with other professionals regarding patient care. It is not a patientfacing role.

Main duties of the job

  • Through liaison, research and dialogue identify and collate relevant health information to add to multi-disciplinary risk assessment discussions and Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings (MDTs)
  • Under supervision of the Head of Safeguarding, provide timely and accurate case conference reports and health safeguarding reports as requested, as part of the Multi-agency Safeguarding processes across all areas within the Primary Care Network.
  • Attend key meetings as required, such as the practice Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings (MDTs).
  • Collate and record accurate minutes of any child and adult safeguarding meetings attended and ensure GP actions from these meetings are processed in a timely manner.
  • Provide support and guidance to all Primary Care Network staff with support from the Head of Safeguarding.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will work as a member of the Safeguarding Team to ensure a high-quality safeguarding service is delivered to all PCN GP Surgeries within Rockingham Forest PCN, South Peterborough PCN, St Neots PCN and Four Counties PCN. This will include providing advice, support and relevant information to a multitude of professionals, enabling the Safeguarding Team to assess the most appropriate plan of action for each adult and child case reviewed.

Person Specification

Experience

  • Experience of working as a secretary / administrator
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience of working directly with the general public
  • Experience with the Microsoft office package including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
  • SystmOne and EMIS Database Management.

Qualifications

  • Good standard of education, min C grade GCSE (or equivalent) in English
  • Excellent use of English (verbal and written) Shorthand
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent level of knowledge or competency
