At Lakes Travel Group we are professional, agile and our goal is to move passengers across Cumbria and beyond. Airport Services UK Limited offers airport transfers, school transport and tours across Cumbria.
We are currently recruiting private hire taxi drivers to join our well-established team. Our drivers need a private hire license so applicants that already hold this license would be preferable, however if you are interested in the role and have an excellent work ethic and a desire to learn a new job role then Airport Services will cover the initial costs for the required license process (Includes theory, practical and medical).
We are looking to hire permanent drivers to work across all our contracts and will be guaranteed 40 hours per week split across school contracts and private transfers.
Responsibilities:- Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport passengers to their destinations
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations
- Maintain a clean and organised vehicle
- Communicate effectively with passengers, clients, and dispatchers
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, if applicable
- Adhere to schedules and routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Commercial driving experience preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to follow directions and maintain a professional demeanour with passengers and clients
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, if required for the position
