Lakes Gas is seeking a propane Service Technician, with CDL B, to do local routes. Primary responsibilities include customer service, sales, servicing, inspecting, and installing propane tanks, cylinders and appliances at residential and commercial sites. Service Technicians pump out tanks, remove and relocate tanks, perform outside equipment inspections, route, secure and install gas lines and piping and set and install tanks and meters. Service Technicians will assist in the upkeep of company vehicles, tools, and plant. This position does involve being exposed to extreme weather environments and working a compensated on-call rotation.
This position is eligible for a $3,000 SIGN ON BONUSFull Benefits Package available includes: competitive wages of $23-27/hr based on qualifications and experience, paid time off, health insurance for employees and their families with employer contributions, dental, vision, flex spending, pet insurance, referral incentives, 401(k) profit sharing/match, product discounts and more.
Requirements
- Valid Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements (or the ability to obtain requisite endorsements) without air brake restrictions
- A clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card
- Accurately perform basic mathematical calculations
- Must have the ability to read, write, and clearly communicate
- Ability to detail all service work performed in company work orders
- Must comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Ability to operate and maintain handheld tablets
- DOT Hazmat Training and Maintenance every three years
- Knowledge of NPFA 54 related to gas piping and appliance installation including combustion air and flue gas venting requirements
- Maintains compliance with all DOT requirements
Physical Demands:
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to pull delivery hose
- Must be able to bend, climb, reach, and rotate as needed
- Filling, loading, securing and delivering propane cylinders or bulk
