About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant in our Maternity Ward, youāll play an essential role in supporting midwives, nurses, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, compassionate, and highāquality care for wÄhine, pÄpi, and whÄnau. Your day will be varied from assisting with patient care and comfort, to supporting clinical tasks (once trained), to helping keep the ward running smoothly with clerical and technical duties. At the heart of this role is care: respecting patient dignity, ensuring comfort, and contributing to an environment where whÄnau feel supported and safe.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Youāll be part of the Maternity team at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital a collaborative, whÄnauācentred group of midwives, nurses, kaiÄwhina, and allied health staff who work together to provide exceptional care for mothers and babies. The ward is a supportive environment where teamwork, professionalism and kindness guide the mahi every day.
About you
Youāll be someone who is caring, reliable, and committed to supporting both patients and colleagues. You will also bring:
- OR current enrolment in this qualification
- OR commitment to begin this qualification within six months of starting.
- A willingness to uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi and support equitable outcomes for MÄori.
