Interim Recruitment Manager – Mechanical & Construction Trades
Lakers | Hinkley Point C | Initial 3-Month Contract
Lakers, part of the French-owned Groupe M, is seeking an experienced and highly networked recruitment professional to lead a dedicated recruitment campaign supporting our mechanical construction activities at Hinkley Point C.
This is an opportunity to work directly with an established and growing engineering contractor, recruiting exclusively on behalf of Lakers rather than through a traditional agency model.
The assignment
- Source and recruit experienced coded welders, pipefitters, platers, mechanical supervisors and associated industrial construction trades.
- Develop new recruitment channels across UK industrial regions, particularly South Wales, the South West, the Midlands and Scotland.
- Use established personal networks and industry relationships to identify and engage suitably qualified candidates.
- Promote Lakers directly as an employer, managing candidates from initial engagement through selection, onboarding and mobilisation.
- Work closely with the Lakers project management and HR teams to meet demanding mobilisation requirements.
- Establish a sustainable candidate database and recruitment pipeline for future major projects.
- Identify, plan and coordinate targeted recruitment events, hiring days and industry networking opportunities to attract skilled tradespeople and expand Lakers’ candidate network.
The ideal candidate
We are particularly interested in individuals with significant experience recruiting mechanical trades into power generation, petrochemical, refinery, nuclear, heavy engineering or major industrial construction projects.
An established network of skilled tradespeople is essential. Experience with HPC, major shutdowns, NAECI/ECIA arrangements and industrial construction mobilisation would be advantageous.
The arrangement
An initial three-month, flexible contract, with a competitive day rate and performance-related bonuses linked to successful mobilisation.
Remote working is possible, with regular engagement with the Lakers management and project teams.
