The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

The role is permanent, full-time, and consists of 39 hours per week based at our Distribution Centre in Kendal, 5 days a week. This is an exciting and varied role that takes responsibility for all aspects of Health and Safety and Facilities within our Kendal Distribution Centre.

You will build a safety-first culture and ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority. You will be supporting the Group Facilities Manager and Health and Safety Lead. Your role will ensure the operation remains compliant with all relevant legislation for Health and Safety.

You will be a lead member of the Health and Safety Committee and the on-site contact for maintenance engineers to ensure they can smoothly and efficiently carry out scheduled work, ensuring contractors adhere to relevant site rules, work safely, and in line with their relevant Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

We are looking for somebody with a constant, engaging, and challenging presence on site to ensure that Health and Safety at all levels of the DC is understood as everyone’s responsibility.

About you

  • You’ll have excellent knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation within a warehouse or similar environment.
  • You must have knowledge of Health and Safety systems and incident management processes.
  • You will be required to interpret and implement legislation into a warehouse environment without significantly impacting operational practices at the site and report on it.
  • You must manage and maintain the DC Health and Safety systems in a timely and accurate way.
  • Your communication is key - you’ll be clear and ensure your message is understood both verbally and in writing, with excellent attention to detail.
