Join our high-performing warehouse team in Newtownards, where you'll play a hands-on role in the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of dairy products across a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment. This multifunctional position combines core warehouse operations - picking, loading, stock control, and goods movement - with onsite vehicle and trailer shunting. You'll be a key link between Production, Engineering, and Logistics, ensuring every pallet, product, and process meets the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and traceability.
Your Impact:
- Warehouse Operations: Pick, load, and store products with precision, ensuring full compliance with dairy hygiene and food-safety standards.
- Stock Accuracy: Complete stock checks, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations to maintain real-time accuracy across multiple storage zones.
- Shunting Duties: Safely move vehicles and trailers onsite (1 in 3 weeks), supporting smooth inbound and outbound flows.
- Quality & Traceability: Maintain meticulous records, batch traceability, and documentation to meet strict dairy compliance requirements.
- Hygiene & Safety: Uphold site hygiene, allergen controls, and safe-working practices across all warehouse areas.
- Logistics Coordination: Work closely with Production to manage material flows, WIP movement, and timely dispatch of finished goods.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify issues, support root-cause analysis, and contribute to process improvements and KPI performance.
- Tech & Equipment: Operate scanners, warehouse systems, forklifts, pallet trucks, and automated equipment with confidence (training provided).
- Team Collaboration: Partner with Production, Engineering, and external security/operational centres to maintain high site standards.
Essential criteria:
- Warehouse Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is essential.
- Physical Agility: Comfortable with bending, reaching, and lifting items up to 15kg.
- Driving Credentials: A full UK valid driving licence is essential. A Class 1 licence and shunting experience are ideal, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility: Willingness to support a variety of shift patterns in a 24/7 operation.
- Attention to Detail: A methodical approach to documentation, stock accuracy, and compliance.
