Lab Technician Artigarvan, County Tyrone Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited (The Group) is the second largest dairy processor on the island of Ireland. The business is complex and ambitious with a milk supply pool of 2 billion litres of milk, drawn from over 3,200 family farms across 16 counties. With the most modern dairy manufacturing facilities in 8 locations on a cross-border basis, the Group supplies to a broad customer base including some of the worlds foremost blue chip companies across the dairy food ingredients, foodservice and consumer food channels on a domestic Ireland, UK, European and global basis. Internationally we export some 240 different products to over 100 countries worldwide. The Groups Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) operates a state-of-the-art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility and is a leading and innovative provider of the highest quality feeds and agricultural inputs to dairy, beef, and sheep farmers across the north and south of Ireland. Applications are invited for the above position that will be based at our Artigarvan Site in County Tyrone. The Role Our Lab Technicians are responsible for the sampling, testing and recording of products at various stages of our production process, ensuring all products meet legal, company and customer quality standards. Daily responsibilities will include (Not limited to): Testing and release of raw materials prior to production. Ensuring quality control of production process i.e. finished product testing. Carrying out sample testing including fat, protein, moisture, lactose, titratable acidity, freezing point, antibiotics, total solids, pH, etc. Completing daily equipment set-up and calibration. Carrying out testing of dairy products e.g. milk, cream, buttermilk, skim concentrate etc. Preparing chemical solutions and buffers. Collection of all necessary samples Liaising with production departments regarding out-of-spec results to ensure any required action is taken in a timely manner. Environmental Swabbing. The Person Our team are seeking an individual that possesses a 3rd level qualification from within a relevant discipline and who has the ability to work on their own initiative while independently managing their own workload. In addition, the successful applicant will have excellent attention to detail, sound IT skills including Microsoft Office packages and have the ability to write reports & present information. Relevant experience from within a similar food manufacturing environment and/or testing of product would be advantageous.
