Job Summary

The Housekeeping Team Leader is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of housekeeping services across the property. This role is key to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation for all guests and residents. The Housekeeping Team Leader plays a vital role in supervising, motivating, and supporting housekeeping staff to achieve consistent results, while also ensuring compliance with health, safety, and operational policies. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent communication, strong organisation, and a proactive approach to people and task management.

Key Responsibilities

This is a varied role with key responsibilities being, but not limited to:

Team Leadership & People Management

In conjunction with the Site Supervisor:

· Lead, supervise, and support the housekeeping team daily to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standard.

· Manage rotas, shift allocations, and holiday planning to always ensure appropriate staffing levels.

· Provide on-the-job training and ongoing coaching to team members, fostering a positive, organised and productive work environment.

· Conduct regular performance reviews, address any performance issues promptly, and escalate where necessary.

· Act as the main point of contact for housekeeping staff, offering guidance, conflict resolution, and motivation.

· Support staff with system access and completion of any required training modules.

Operational Oversight

· Oversee daily housekeeping operations, including apartment cleans, turnover schedules, linen changes, and stock replenishment.

· Conduct quality control checks to maintain high cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the property.

· Ensure cleaning supplies, linen and equipment are adequately stocked, maintained, and used in line with health and safety requirements.

· Liaise with the administrative and maintenance teams to coordinate apartment readiness and resolve issues efficiently.

· Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new housekeeping team members.

Health & Safety and Compliance

· Ensure the team adheres to all health and safety protocols and cleaning standards.

· Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, inspections, and incident reports.

· Support and enforce compliance with COSHH regulations and any other relevant legislation or company policies.

· Participate in fire safety and equipment checks, ensuring that all housekeeping activities meet regulatory standards.

Additional Duties:

  • Undertake any other duties or responsibilities that may reasonably be required by the company

The role will include some weekend and public holiday working.
