The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and technically capable Senior Paraplanner to join a well-established, growing and highly respected Independent Financial Adviser based in Knaphill on the outskirts of Woking. Working as part of a collaborative and professional Paraplanning team, you will play a key role in supporting a Chartered Financial Adviser, with a broad range of complex financial planning cases. This includes work involving HNW clients, pensions, investments, retirement planning, tax planning, trusts and inheritance tax strategies. This role offers much more than report writing. You will be actively involved in researching solutions, contributing to client outcomes and participating in the firm's in-house Investment Committee.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse client information from fact finds, existing records and adviser meeting notes
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis, including: cashflow modelling, pension and investment research, retirement planning, trust and IHT planning
  • Review and analyse existing client portfolios
  • Research and recommend appropriate products, providers and planning strategies
  • Prepare high-quality suitability reports and recommendations covering: investments, pensions, drawdown, transfers, protection, trusts and inheritance tax planning
  • Support advisers in preparation for client meetings and reviews
  • Attend client meetings where appropriate
  • Liaise with providers and maintain effective professional relationships
  • Work closely with advisers, administrators and compliance to ensure efficient and timely business processing
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of legislation, regulation and industry best practice
  • Contribute to the firm's Investment Committee and broader business initiatives

About You - You will have:

  • Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (Chartered status desirable)
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Paraplanner within an IFA or Wealth Management environment
  • Strong technical expertise across pensions, investments, taxation, protection, trusts and estate planning
  • Experience using industry software such as Intelliflo, wrap platforms, FE Analytics and cashflow modelling tools
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and quality standards
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a professional team
  • Residency within a practical commuting distance of Woking
