Your New Role: We have an exciting twelve-month fixed-term contract Payroll Administrator position available, to join our broader Finance team based in our Glasgow-based Head Office. We are looking for someone with sound administration skills (especially MS Excel) and strong numeracy skills to join us at an exciting time for the department, as we look to expand business and drive forward across this new year. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of areas within the payroll function, primarily supporting our Payroll & Benefits Manager in ensuring accurate and timely payroll, maintaining employee records, and delivering timely and outstanding service to all colleagues. You will possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn and develop in the role, alongside a keen eye for detail.
Hours of Work: 9.00am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate closely with our Payroll & Benefits Manager to administer the end-to-end, monthly payroll for all employees. This will include accurately updating our systems and databases, entering new starter information and processing leavers along with overtime and incentive requisitions.
- Ensure Payroll records are well maintained with up-to-date information monthly.
- Create and maintain accurate payroll, pension and company benefits databases and spreadsheets.
- Provide guidance and action general payroll queries from both colleagues and any external parties, seeking support from the Payroll & Benefits Manager, when required.
- Assist with company workplace pension administration tasks.
- Proactively complete all administration tasks linked to our company benefits and the online benefits platform.
- Any other ad hoc administration tasks as reasonably required by the Payroll & Benefits Manager.
Person Specification: Previous payroll administration or experience in a similar role is highly desirable; however, candidates who can demonstrate drive and ability to develop into the role will be considered. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, is required along with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to effectively manage and organise time and tasks to the changing needs of the business. Confident and able to multi-task, work under pressure and strive to ensure deadlines are met. Excellent communication skills, able to work with sensitive information with discretion.
