Mobile Patrolling Security Officer
Laing O'Rourke, in partnership with Select Security, are currently recruiting a skilled team of Security Officers for one of our major infrastructure projects.
This important project covers a large working corridor running from Grimsby down to Walpole.
Current roles include night security officers working 12-hour shifts, with working patterns varying between 48-60 hours per week on a long-term, ongoing basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for committed security professionals seeking stable, long-term employment.
We are looking for professional, experienced and reliable security officers who have experience in protecting premises and construction sites, with a focus on ensuring that no unauthorised intruders or members of the public enter unsafe or restricted areas.
Your main role will be to maintain the safety and security of our construction sites throughout the project corridor.
This role will be mainly mobile in nature, using a site vehicle to patrol remote working locations, conducting regular security sweeps, and responding promptly to CCTV activations and alarm alerts across the working area.
You will play a vital role in protecting our assets, personnel, and the surrounding communities.

- Valid, in-date SIA licence in either security guarding, door supervision, or close protection (essential requirement).
- Full, valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points (essential for mobile patrol duties).
- A sound, confident communicator with excellent skills in both written and spoken English, capable of producing clear incident reports.
- Someone who can work well within a large security team and interact professionally with others within the project, including contractors, managers, and site personnel.
- A strong customer focus with excellent customer service skills and the ability to represent the company professionally at all times.
- A professional manner with sound judgement, discretion, and integrity when dealing with sensitive situations.
- Previous experience working on construction sites or infrastructure projects would be highly beneficial.
- Flexibility, reliability, and a strong work ethic with commitment to maintaining high security standards.
