Be part of this 'once in a generation' project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2-Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable low-carbon electricity. The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke.
Responsibilities:
- Commercial responsibility for multiple structures across the project.
- Advise and manage commercial risks within the project.
- Providing a team of surveyors with support and guidance on their job responsibilities.
- Form an integral part of the multidisciplinary sub-teams responsible for project delivery and client service.
- Support the interim applications for payment and agreements.
- Management, administration and settlement of subcontractors' accounts, including accountability for those delegated to your team.
- Preparation and management of any claims.
- The flexible management of staff to provide an effective commercial service for the business.
- Negotiating with client's representatives, sub-contractors and other consultants to achieve project results whilst maintaining group relationships.
- Input into contractual implications of intended courses of action.
- Input and support the preparation of monthly contract review reports, communicate key risk, opportunity and change with transparency, in a timely manner.
- Support preparation and issue of weekly Business Plan Review (BPR) information.
- Identify change and implement the change control process and agreement in a timely manner.
- Ensure that contract documents are properly executed prior to project commencement.
- Adopt appropriate measures for management of risk.
- Keep your manager fully advised of any issue/risk which has arisen or might arise and which could affect the business/project.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Experience within infrastructure and/or power sectors.
- Geotechnical / piling experience desirable.
- Degree qualified in relevant discipline (Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management).
- Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors desirable but not essential.
