Are you an experienced Sprinkler Design Engineer with a track record of delivering high-quality fire suppression designs? Do you want to work on large scale, exciting projects? We have recently established a dedicated fire sprinkler division to support the in-house delivery of fire suppression systems across a range of high-profile and complex projects. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and growing this capability within the business.
As a Sprinkler Design Engineer, you will be responsible for all fire suppression design elements, supporting the delivery of large and complex projects. You will be part of a project delivery team, based either in one of our offices or on-site. Occasional travel across the UK will be required to carry out site surveys, attend meetings, review progress, and mark up drawings.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare sprinkler system designs for a range of applications, including large and small works, in line with LPC Rules, NFPA, and FM standards.
- Take full design responsibility throughout the project lifecycle.
- Produce technical documentation, installation drawings, and coordinated models.
- Complete hydraulic calculations.
- Carry out site surveys where required.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and project specifications.
- Specify appropriate equipment for each project.
- Prepare and submit end‑of‑project documentation (e.g. O&M manuals, as‑fitted drawings, certification).
- Attend and contribute to client review meetings.
- Coordinate with external subcontractors as part of a multi‑disciplinary design team.
- Liaise with suppliers and key stakeholders.
- Comply with all company and regulatory processes.
- Participate in internal and third‑party audits.
- Consult with subject matter experts where required.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on health and safety.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong working knowledge of BS EN 12845 and LPS 1048 standards.
- LPCB Basic, Intermediate, or FHC qualifications are desirable.
- Knowledge of FM and NFPA standards would be advantageous.
- Proven experience in technical design and the production of drawings and documentation.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Canute FHC design software.
- Experience with HydraCAD, Autosprink, or similar design tools is advantageous.
