Play a key role in shaping a complex, high‑profile justice project. We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Deputy Design Manager to support the delivery of the architectural and façade design packages on the HMP Garth & Wymott redevelopment project. This role is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their design management career – working closely with an experienced Design Manager while gaining hands‑on exposure to a challenging, multi‑disciplinary environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the management and coordination of design information—ensuring it meets programme, technical, safety and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in coordinating architectural and façade design packages across project stages.
  • Review design information for completeness, compliance and buildability, escalating issues as needed.
  • Support the production, control and distribution of design documentation.
  • Help track progress against the design programme and contribute to design reporting.
  • Participate in collaborative design reviews and manage straightforward queries.
  • Assist with change management, risk and opportunity updates, and statutory compliance activities under supervision.
  • Provide on‑site support to the construction team, helping resolve technical queries.

This is a role where you’ll learn by doing—gaining exposure while being supported by experienced team members.

What you’ll bring

  • A degree in Architecture or an Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience working with design consultant teams and in multidisciplinary environments.
