Want to help shape the intelligent buildings and infrastructure of the future? Looking to use your BMS expertise on some of the UK's most complex and exciting projects? Crown House Technologies (CHt), part of the Laing O'Rourke Group, is looking for a BMS Estimator to join our Enterprise Solutions team. Our Enterprise Solutions team brings together BMS, intelligent building controls and systems integration to create smarter, more connected and efficient buildings and infrastructure.

You'll play a key role in securing and shaping new work across healthcare, science, infrastructure and commercial projects, using your BMS knowledge and estimating expertise to develop technically robust and competitive solutions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading and supporting BMS estimates for major and complex bids.
  • Preparing cost estimates for field devices, control panels, head‑end systems, integration, installation and commissioning.
  • Reviewing specifications, drawings, control schematics and tender information to establish scope and requirements.
  • Engaging with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate quotations.
  • Identifying technical and commercial risks, opportunities and value‑engineering solutions.
  • Working with design, engineering, commercial, procurement and operational teams throughout the tender process.
  • Supporting bid adjudications, negotiations and successful handover to project delivery teams.
  • Exploring opportunities for Digital Engineering, DfMA, self‑delivery and innovative BMS solutions.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong technical knowledge of BMS and building control systems.
  • Experience in BMS estimating, design, engineering, project delivery or commissioning.
  • Understanding of BMS architecture, DDC controls, field devices and system integration.
  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus and IP‑based control systems.
  • Ability to interpret specifications, control schematics, points schedules and design information.
  • Good commercial awareness and experience working with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Experience with platforms such as Schneider Electric, Siemens or Tridium, together with knowledge of BMS cyber security, ICT infrastructure and NEC/JCT contracts, would be advantageous. An HNC/HND or degree in Building Services, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline would be beneficial, although practical BMS industry experience is equally valued. You’ll also need to be able to meet BPSS and Security Clearance (SC level) requirements where required.
