Laing O'Rourke are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Bridgend. We have been appointed as construction partner for National Grid's Great Grid Partnership programme, which forms part of a supply chain framework that will also support infrastructure projects beyond 2030.
All Commercial duties including:
- Measurement, valuation and agreement of work sections.
- Assist with preparation of interim applications for payment and internal valuations.
- Management and reporting of monthly costs.
- Draft, manage and settle subcontracts, with assistance.
- Preparation, agreement, maintenance and filing of records.
- Advise project management on contractual implications of intended courses of action.
- Assisting in preparation of claims.
- Identifying change and administering change control process.
- Assisting with the preparation of final account, including pricing.
- Drafting and preparation of weekly Business Performance Review (BPR) information and monthly contract review reports.
- Keep your manager fully advised of any issue/risk which has arisen or might arise and which could affect the business/project.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience in power or major infrastructure projects.
- RICS membership (desirable but not essential).
- Willingness to be involved in other activities to achieve company objectives.
- A drive to learn and grow to the next grade.
