Explore Manufacturing are Laing O'Rourke's largest and most advanced pre-assembly manufacturing business unit. We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Project Controller to join the Team at our Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction β CEMC.
The investment in our own purpose-built facility, which opened in 2009, has united the power of our experience and knowledge of construction with state-of-the-art processes and technology, providing our clients with leaner, smarter and more cost-efficient options for the built environment.
A Trainee Project Controller is responsible for keeping project documents organised and performing a range of tasks to support the team. Duties/tasks typically include the below:
- To develop, monitor and update information systems so data/information can be easily accessed by the team.
- Uses MS Teams, Word, PowerPoint and Excel to produce and update presentations, basic spreadsheets and documents for the team where required.
- Compiling Quality record packs (QRPs) across multiple precast concrete projects to ensure key site handover requirements are met as required by the programme.
- Review and compile Quality information (QARs/pre/post pours).
- Upload & manage documents/drawings to relevant data sharing portals (Asite, BIMXtra, Assetwise, Projectwise, SAP, Power Bi etc) across multiple projects.
- Ensure that the client requirements on projects including scope, programme, specification, and design information are understood by the EIP team to inform the delivery plan.
- Management of TIDP (Task information delivery plan). Create drawing numbers where required and issue to relevant project document controllers.
- Monitoring and updating of precast concrete statuses on relevant platform.
- Attend internal team progress meetings, coordination meetings and workshops as required.
- Liaise with external clients to ensure smooth distribution of information.
