Laing O'Rourke is recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of major power sector projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value infrastructure schemes that support the transition to a low-carbon energy future.
You will provide technical leadership on site and within project teams, ensuring civil engineering works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage civil engineering activities on power sector construction projects
- Provide technical expertise across earthworks, concrete structures, foundations, drainage, and associated infrastructure
- Oversee setting out, temporary works coordination, and construction methodologies
- Ensure works are delivered in line with design, specifications, programme, and budget
- Manage and mentor engineers and site teams, promoting best practice and continuous improvement
- Liaise closely with design teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Drive high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental performance
- Support planning, risk management, and technical assurance processes
About You
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience delivering civil engineering works within the power, energy, or major infrastructure sectors
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy civils and complex construction environments
- Experience working for a main contractor on large, multi-disciplinary projects
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach with a strong commercial awareness
- Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE or equivalent) is desirable
