Expanded is a member of the Laing O'Rourke construction group, we are recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to support multiple projects in Birmingham, Surrey and Kent. The Expanded Group provides total capability in the early construction phases of major projects, providing an end-to-end solution or a bespoke choice of services. Backed by a central technical design and engineering resource, we can deliver the full range of piling, precast concrete, post-tensioning and structures techniques.
The Health & Safety professional will lead and manage health and safety delivery within Expanded and measure Health & Safety performance against strategic deliverables.
What will the role look like?
- Provide local advice and support necessary to assist managers and staff to fulfil their safety responsibilities to the high standards demanded by the business.
- Facilitate and coach operational teams on Inclusion & Wellbeing and the respective engagement tools, which will allow the team to engage effectively with the workforce.
- Carry out relevant Health & Safety assurance activities, providing confidence to the business that operational effectiveness of all relevant processes are being delivered.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Qualification at level 5 (min)
- Experience working on civils infrastructures projects
- Technical knowledge in Occupational Health Risk Management and Wellbeing
- Technical knowledge in Safety Risk Management
- Coaching / Training competence
- Assurance / Audit / Investigation competence
- Member of relevant professional body
