Are you ready to lead technical excellence and regulatory compliance on some of the UK’s most high-profile developments? Laing O’Rourke is seeking a Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) Technical Lead to take centre stage in delivering world‐class safety and design standards for Heathrow and the Institute of Pandemics in Oxford.
As the Designated Individual under the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended), you’ll ensure compliance with Part 2A duties, manage relationships with Principal Designer Advisors, and embed building safety into every stage of design and delivery. What You’ll Do
- Lead planning, management, and monitoring of design compliance with UK Building Regulations.
- Drive collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Champion competence frameworks and building safety systems.
- Provide regulatory intelligence and training to project teams.
- Oversee design risk management for higher-risk building work.
What You’ll Bring
- Circa 10 years’ experience in design or construction leadership.
- Expertise in navigating complex regulatory frameworks.
- Chartered (or working towards) status with RIBA, CABE, RICS, or equivalent.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
